At Crux Counseling, our mission is to provide professional and ethical mental health counseling services to support individuals ages 14 and older.
We believe in taking a client-centered approach to counseling, where we work collaboratively with our clients to identify their goals and develop a personalized plan for treatment. Through a mindfulness-based, whole body approach, we work help you find motivation, perspective, and joy in your life. Through a systems based approach toward integration of your mind and body you may not only be able to manage your symptoms but work toward healing past wounds.
Our team of experienced licensed therapists and interns are dedicated to helping our clients achieve their goals and improve their mental health and well-being.

Ashton is our founder of Crux Counseling and she has been practicing for over nine years in the Bozeman and Livingston communities. She uses Internal Family Systems primarily as well as: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Client Centered Approach. She is level one trained by the IFS Institute in Internal Family Systems.
She believes we thrive when we feel confident in who we are and connected to the people that matter the most to us.
Ashton has worked in: medical outpatient, youth residential, wilderness therapy, public school, community mental health, and private practice. She sees beyond the illness-based perspective of mental health, instead she views mental health as a continual process of healing and development of self leadership. She often uses nature as a way to aid in her work.
Ashton will help to identify and guide you toward your own goals and values to navigate the obstacles in your life. She would like to help you feel like you are living meaningful and purposeful life. She works with adults and adolescents, experiencing anxiety, ages 14 and up.

Nick is a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling who brings a steady, grounded, and relational presence to his work. He believes meaningful change occurs when individuals feel deeply understood and supported in exploring their inner experience at their own pace.
Nick practices from a person-centered approach, emphasizing authenticity, collaboration, and respect for client autonomy. He works with individuals navigating stress, life transitions, identity development, performance pressure, and relationship challenges.
Prior to entering the counseling field, Nick spent seven years in coaching roles with the U.S. Paralympics Nordic Ski Team, most recently serving as Head Coach at the Milano-Cortina Paralympic Games. Working in high-performance environments deepened his understanding of resilience, identity, and the impact of pressure on well-being. This experience informs his calm, grounded presence and his ability to support clients through demanding or high-stakes seasons of life.
Nick is completing his clinical internship under supervision and is committed to ethical, compassionate, and growth-oriented care.

Colter is our Office Therapy Dog. He has a warm and friendly approach to his work. His methods include utilizing radical acceptence and unconditional positive regard to help create a safe and welcoming environment.
